Contracts for teenagers

Question

Need to put together a contract for my troubled 18 yrs old son. Is there a sample copy for me to use as a guide?

Answer

Contracts have limited use on their own – the teen who breaks family rules will have no problem breaking a contract. The important thing is that the contract be supported by a strategy to resolve the underlying behaviour problems, open communication about expectations and a great deal of work in building the parent – teen relationship.

Having said that – these sites will give you an idea of the kinds of parent – teen contracts that are around:www.teenbehaviorcontracts.com/index.htm
